July 15-24 2011 marks the Cinemalaya week, a week of celebration of the pinoy indie film in the country. Though it's not really the biggest event for some, but a very special for indie film directors and also to some aspiring film makers.
Some of my block mates decided to skip Eco class, because we fear that the CCP will be packed of people by the time reach there. When we arrived at CCP many students of other schools were there, we saw few famous faces like Lorna Tolentino's two sons, the very respected Ricky Davao, and saw the very gorgeous Gretchen Barreto.
I got so starstruck-ed at first but then I over come it by just staying calm and not being so ignorant at all. We stroll around CCP while waiting for the go signal, we viewed the beautiful exhibits about this years movie entries for Cinemalaya.
I wish hopefully next year there is more space to accommodate for people who will attend the opening cause' sadly we didn't get any good view because we only watched it from the 2nd floor.
After the opening the free screening of Maskara premiered, everyone rushed into the cinema to watch Laurice Guillen's masterpice, the movie was simple yet meaningful, it was a good way to start of the Cinemalaya week.
